Case study: Sharpening external communications at the Education Forum

The Education Forum is an education policy lobby group. Support for private education (early childhood, school and tertiary) is one of its key themes.

Monthly publication

The Education Forum asked Facttactic to produce its flagship monthly publication. Facttactic worked with the Education Forum to re-brand and re-design the publication, and re-launched it as Subtext.

Facttactic is responsible each month for writing the publication and for project
managing its production.

Subtext has become a key and influential publication in the education sector. It is known to be used by Members of Parliament, government officials, journalists and teachers as a research tool and for information on education issues outside the scope of the general media.

Website

Since its launch, Subtext has become the most visited section on the Education Forum website and has helped hugely increase the number of visitors to the website.

Public relations programme

As a result of the success of Subtext, Facttactic was asked to help the Education Forum broaden all its communications with its stakeholders and the general public.

Facttactic has created an ongoing programme of public relations that includes
regularly updated website resource material, the release of targeted media releases and contributed articles in metropolitan and provincial newspapers by Education Forum policy advisor Norman LaRocque.

Media appearances

This programme has seen the Education Forum become a well-recognised name nationally in the field of education policy. It has resulted in Norman LaRocque regularly appearing in print and broadcast media around the country, and Education Forum communications becoming accepted as authoritative contributions to the national education policy debate.
